`YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED
The Coffee People podcast has a new Roast! Industry Partner. Welcome, Roastar!
WHAT ROASTAR DOES:
“You roast delicious coffee. We’ll make the beautiful coffee packaging.
Whether it's a novelty tin can, traditional gusseted bag, stand-up pouch or sample assortment, Roastar has flexible packaging solutions for your product. All of our packaging is made right here in the USA with highly advanced digital printing technology, which allows us to offer the fastest turnaround in the industry, along with incredibly low minimums.” • From roastar.com
Roastar is a digital package printing company. When you see really cool artwork on a really good quality bag or coffee tin, that’s them.
They work with small, mid, and large-sized coffee roasters (and chocolate, snack food, pet treat makers).
They work to create a fast, efficient, and most importantly, effective process that can be as collaborative as the customer needs. Click this link to see what working with Roastar entails.
They support the coffee industry. Example A: Partnering with Roast! West Coast!
They make cool stuff.

WHO ROASTAR IS:
Click through the photos on Roastar's social media, and you'll see hero shots of some really cool packaging. Still, just as often, you'll see the people who make Roastar a success. You'll see them supporting local school job fairs and cheers'ing with funny coffee mugs. You'll see quirky selfies from coffee conventions and neighborhood clean-up events. You'll see them celebrating their teammates' successes. You'll see them cheering on the team, dressing up as gumball machines for Halloween–I think it was Halloween–and hosting neighborhood clean-ups.
Roastar is a digital packaging company filled with people who care about what they are putting out into the world and celebrating their ability to uplift the efforts of small businesses. Their niche happens to be in the coffee packaging corner of the world.
WHY I’M THRILLED ABOUT THIS PARTNERSHIP
I met the Roastar team at Coffeefest LA in fall of 2022, but coincidentally they are based out of Wausau, WI—my HOMETOWN! What are the odds? This partnership strengthens my connection to home and allows me to celebrate all the great things I miss about Central Wisconsin.
The Wausau area has a growing craft coffee community. Shout out to Tucknee Coffee, Redwood St. Roasters, Vino Latte, and Whitewater Music Hall. I’m looking forward to visiting you again, along with the other hot spots I’ve missed.
Collaboration events! I’ll be interviewing coffee lovers at the Roastar booth (#954) at the Specialty Coffee Association Expo next month in Portland. Stop by and tell me why you love coffee!
I love packaging design. On my phone, I have albums of cool packaging designs on my phone’s photo gallery. In my kitchen, there is a cabinet filled with “good boxes.”* In a previous life, I designed packaging graphics for bicycle products and high-end goods.
This collaboration enables me to really engage with the design side of the industry. So…yeah, I’m pumped. Look for upcoming design and designer showcases. Finally, this partnership will enable R!WC and the Coffee People podcast to continue to grow, to continue to uplift the specialty/craft coffee community, and to encourage more and more and more people to take a moment to consider the power of connectedness that comes with every cup of coffee.
*Saving a good box seems to be a fairly harmless disease that afflicts men in the late 30s-early 40s. There is no known cure.
