I've used coffee socks for years--first as a means of avoiding contaminants in paper filters, and secondly just because once you get used to them, they're a lot easier than paper. The speed of filtration is slower after the first few uses, and if you want to extend the life of the sock, boil it occasionally in water with baking soda.

Thanks for the thoughts, Joyce. I'm glad to hear a long-time user approves! I did boil them both before first use and will keep experimenting for awhile. I've also reached out to Coffee Sock to see if they'd be interested in being on a future episode of the podcast.
